Before the merger with Virtual Instruments, Philippe was the CEO of Load DynamiX for nearly 4 years. Philippe brings over 22 years of experience in technology industries. Philippe held senior executive positions with BigFix, IBM and Accenture. During his tenure at BigFix, he led several business functions and drove strategy and operations across the company. He helped drive BigFix to a leadership position in the Systems and Security Management markets, and a successful sale to IBM in 2010. At IBM, Philippe helped lead the integration of BigFix into the Tivoli business unit. Before BigFix, he was a Partner with Accenture’s High Tech strategy practice, and a leader of its Software practice. Philippe began his career with engineering positions at Alcatel and PSA Peugeot Citroen. He earned his MBA from Harvard Business School, MS in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley and Diplome d’Ingenieur from ENSAM (France).
As a 25 year industry veteran and Sales executive, Sheen loves working with customers. His passion for developing enterprise sales organizations, instilling best practices and ensuring customer success has resulted in successful sales leadership roles across both private and public companies. He has significant operational experience in delivering and scaling global distributed, high-caliber sales and channel teams. Sheen joins VI after having successfully built the initial go-to-market strategy and teams at Indix, Vyatta(acquired by Brocade), Aerohive Networks, NetScaler (Citrix), Good Technology, and Exodus Communications. Sheen started his career at Mobil Oil and then Oracle, after earning his degree in Purchasing and Materials Management from Arizona State University. When not working, he enjoys spending time with family, bow hunting for big game, fly fishing and cycling.
As CTO, John is responsible for being the voice of the customer and understanding the key IT infrastructure industry trends that affect product strategy and strategic alliances. John has been a leader within Virtual Instruments since 2009, leading the global system engineering organization and leading the marketing team from mid-2012 until the merger with Load DynamiX. John brings nearly 20 years of IT industry experience and has held a number of senior level sales, sales engineering and product marketing positions at industry leaders such as Qlogic, Borland, McData, and CNT. John was a double major in Economics and Sociology at the University of California at Santa Cruz.
Bringing 30 years of marketing leadership at both leading public and privately held IT infrastructure companies, Len Rosenthal returns to Virtual Instruments as CMO after running marketing at Load DynamiX since July 2013. He is responsible for corporate, channel, and product marketing, including demand generation and overall awareness. Prior to Load DynamiX, he held executive marketing positions at Astute Networks, Virtual Instruments, Panasas and PathScale (acquired by QLogic) and held senior marketing management roles at Inktomi, SGI, and HP. Len earned an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas Business School, a BSEE from the University of Pennsylvania and a BS in Economics from Penn’s Wharton Business School.
Lisa joined Virtual Instruments in September 2016 and leads the worldwide engineering, support and QA teams. She brings over 25 years of engineering management and software development experience to the company. Prior to joining, Lisa was the Senior Director of Engineering at Brocade where she led the OpenStack, OpenDaylight, and Software Defined Networking development teams. She was VP of Engineering at software defined networking pioneer Vyatta, which was acquired by Brocade in 2012. She was also the Senior Director of NAS Engineering at NetApp and held senior engineering leadership positions at Tesla, Netillion, Sun Microsystems, Sequent Computer Systems and Vodafone. She earned her BS degree at the University of Reading in the United Kingdom.
With over 25 years in the IT industry, Tim Van Ash is responsible for the strategic direction of Virtual Instruments’ products, along with the day-to-day product design, management and marketing. Tim joined Virtual Instruments in 2016 as part of the merger with Load DynamiX, where he led products and engineering for Load DynamiX. Previously, Tim held executive positions at CA Technologies, Nimsoft and HP, where he led teams developing products for the cloud and within the data center, covering the entire spectrum of IT management – from APM and infrastructure, to service desk and ITSM.
Industry veteran Peter Dayton joined Virtual Instruments from Vasona Networks where he was CFO since 2011. Prior to Vasona, he worked with Silicon Valley Finance Group where he served as interim CFO for multiple Silicon Valley startups. He has built finance and operations teams for venture capital-backed companies as COO or CFO for more than 10 years across diverse fields including social media, wearable computing, online marketing, semiconductors and telecom software. Previously Peter had roles in sales, business development, marketing and investment banking with Yahoo!, IBM, Aspect Software and Merrill Lynch. Peter has a BSEE from the University of Virginia and earned his MBA from Harvard Business School.
Rick brings a wealth of experience building and implementing technology solutions to Virtual Instruments customers. Rick’s experience ranges from network design and implementation to internet applications architectures to building enterprise business applications. Rick began his career as an electrical engineer with Boeing working on hardware and software design to test avionics. After Boeing, Rick made the move into professional services where he became a Partner with Accenture’s Communications and High Tech practice. Rick worked across a vast array of consulting clients focused enterprise applications and infrastructure including Sony, HP, Apple and Pacific Bell. Rick also ran Accenture’s Internet Center of Excellence in Palo Alto with a mission to deliver innovative solutions to clients while simultaneously developing skills, frameworks and solutions to be utilized by global client teams. After Accenture, Rick founded a travel technology company which he built for over 10 years prior to being acquired. Rick has a Bachelors’ Degree in Electrical Engineering from Colorado State University.
Jagan Jagannathan is Chief Innovation Officer at Virtual Instruments. Jagan joined Virtual Instruments in 2017 with the company’s acquisition of Xangati, where Jagan served as Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer.
Before Xangati, Jagan was Founding CTO and VP Engineering at NetZentry, VP Product Development at Reactive Network Solutions, Principal Engineer at Xerox PARC, Senior Staff Engineer at Sun Microsystems and Senior Computer Scientist at SRI International. His technical expertise is in performance management, network security, high performance computing and visual programming. Jagan holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, Canada and a B.Sc. (First Class Honors), Computer Science, University of Calgary, Canada.
