OVERVIEW

The WorkloadWisdom File Storage performance validation solution provides coverage for all widely supported general-purpose File storage protocols – SMB/CIFS and NFS.

The solution is designed to assess the maximum capacity and speed of shared File storage infrastructures, servers and arrays. WorkloadWisdom emulates up to millions of SMB/CIFS or NFS clients generating highly stressful and realistic requests to the file servers. We then measure the performance, scalability, and response times of the file servers in handling these requests, and verify the integrity of the stored files’ contents.

Virtual Instruments hasn’t uncovered a NAS device or switch that cannot be tested with a WorkloadWisdom appliance, as long as it supports one of the protocols listed above.

Almost all NAS storage vendors use WorkloadWisdom internally to help validate NAS storage performance and scalability in their test, development, and performance engineering labs.
