But for certain key IT roles, business skills are in fact more important than specific technology experiences.
A perfect example is that of project manager for a major technology initiative. It’s great if the CIO can assign a project lead that has worked with the new technology before. But more important is the ability of that person to sit down with operations, sales and marketing and map out a business plan around that technology.
