Building winning teams in data center management

John Gentry, Vice President of Marketing and Alliances –

It’s no secret that in the technology space, some of your strongest innovations originate outside your organization. Whether you’re getting feedback from your customers that allow you to tweak your products for better performance or you’re working closely with a channel partner that has a fresh perspective on how you should position your offerings, mutually beneficial relationships make organizations stronger.

When we talk about building winning teams, we’re talking about more than just external partnerships. Just as important are the teams that exist within an organization. To be successful, companies need to foster teams that span various departments and specialties to get the best results from collaboration and brainstorming. That’s where Virtual Instruments helps customers build winning teams, as well: by eliminating internal dissention and building cohesive units that work together toward success. (If you want to know more about how infrastructure performance management solutions can enable this environment, read Barry Cooks’ blog on eliminating the blame game.)

We’ve always shown dedication to our partner community through our comprehensive partner programs and to our customers through our high level of service, but this year, the emphasis on our critical relationships is something you’ll hear even more about from Virtual Instruments. We recently held our annual kick-off event, and the focus of that meeting was how to build and foster winning teams throughout our organization and with the companies with which we work.

Specifically, we’re focusing on these areas in the coming year:

  • Improving time-to-value and time-to-revenue
  • Investment in market growth opportunities
  • Growing the team consistent with the growth of company

As you can see, 2015 will be a year where we not only continue to foster the solid relationships that we have built, but also and find the right combination of skills and expertise to create even strong internal collaboration. Through these winning teams, we’ll drive our technology forward and ensure our partners and customers reach the next level of success.
