Virtual Instruments has expanded its hybrid IT infrastructure management portfolio to encompass the full range of the cloud deployment models – including public, private, hybrid and multi-cloud environments with the acquisition of Metricly.
Metricly’s monitoring and AWS cost analysis solutions will be integrated with Virtual Instruments’ VirtualWisdom, the industry’s most comprehensive hybrid infrastructure monitoring and AIOps platform. In addition, the acquisition will result in more than 50 new integrations for VirtualWisdom, including integrations for containers, applications, databases and messaging.
A majority of enterprises expect to run their workloads in a hybrid IT environment, with 57% of IT decision makers responding to the 451 Research Voice of the Enterprise, Cloud, Hosting and Managed Services survey indicating that they are moving toward an integrated on-premises and off-premises environment. Enterprises relying on a hybrid environment have learned that a unified approach is key to monitoring applications that run across on- and off-premises infrastructure. They also recognize that cost optimization is an important component of hybrid operations, where a clear understanding of cloud costs is an important factor in determining the best execution venue.
